Rolling Admission

Julia Brown Schools offers rolling admission. As long as space is available, families are welcome to apply throughout the school year. While many children begin in the fall, others enroll during the summer to help ease the transition into the classroom or join us mid-year after relocating to Maryland. An Administrator is happy to discuss availability and help you determine the best time for your child to begin.​

For nearly six decades, Julia Brown Schools has provided authentic Montessori education to Maryland families. Founded in 1967, our schools were built on the Montessori philosophy of fostering independence, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning. 

In fact, our schools were intentionally designed and built by our co-founder, Mr. Brown. Classrooms are lined with large windows that let natural light pour in. It was important to him that they were built with the purpose of learning in mind.  

Our co-founder, Ms. Brown, was trained by educators who were directly taught by Dr. Maria Montessori, establishing a strong foundation rooted in authentic Montessori principles. 

Each school reflects their shared belief that children learn best when surrounded by intention, care, and people who truly know them.

Today, their daughter, Ms. Komesarook, carries that legacy forward. Having served as General Manager for more than 35 years, she continues to lead Julia Brown Schools with the same commitment to Montessori excellence.
