Montessori School in Olney
Our Montessori School in Olney, MD is our newest location, built in 1997. This modern, one-story building features six spacious classrooms lined with large windows that fill each space with natural light. Our central hallway is lined with skylights, creating a bright, welcoming environment.
Our Olney Campus includes a toddler-only play area and a large playground shared by our primary, kindergarten, and elementary students. This gives each age group a safe and engaging space to socialize and play.
Conveniently located near the intersection of Route 108 and Georgia Avenue, we’re directly across from Olney Elementary School.
We proudly serve families from Olney, Ashton, Sandy Spring, Brookeville, and surrounding areas of Montgomery County.
Programs Offered At Our Olney Campus
Our Toddler Program (15 months to 2.5 years) is a modified Montessori class that encourages early independence, language development, and toilet training.
The Primary Program (ages 2.5 to 5) invites the child to explore the 5 areas of Montessori through hands-on, child-led learning. For children in their final year of the Primary cycle, our Kindergarten Program provides a capstone experience, where students deepen their skills, take on leadership roles, and develop strong academic readiness.
Our Elementary Program (ages 6 to 9) continues the Montessori philosophy through the early elementary years, offering an academically rich and engaging curriculum. Students explore language, mathematics, science, and cultural studies in greater depth, and benefit from added enrichment in subjects like Latin and coding.
We also offer Before & After Care to support working families, as well as a summer program exclusively for JBS students.
Our Olney classrooms are led by certified Montessori Directresses.
Julia Brown Schools is fully accredited by the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE).
